Remco Franzen is a Partner in the Netherlands office of Odgers Berndtson, where he focuses on assignments in financial services (banking, insurance and asset management) and global commodity markets (agricultural, metals, oil & gas).
He started his career in the international network of ABN Amro and subsequently worked in Sri Lanka with oversight for the branch’s operations and in Taiwan where he was charged with the management of multinational accounts and corporate finance offering.
He then joined ING Group and held commercial specialist positions in ING Barings project finance (natural resources) out of Amsterdam and Singapore. In 1999, he returned to the Netherlands as ING Bank’s head of branch-management in mid corporate banking. In 2006, he joined Barclays in London to lead the commercial banking segment as its global head, with responsibility for clients, distribution and products.
Remco is fluent in Dutch, English, French and German. He holds a MA in Law from Leiden University (1987) and a MBA from INSEAD (1992).
