Jim Stonehouse is a Managing Partner and Health Care Practice Leader in the Toronto office. Jim has 24 years of experience in hospital and health care administration including senior management roles at West Park Healthcare Centre and, most recently, as Vice President of The Toronto Hospital (now University Health Network). In addition, Jim has been employed in the health care consulting areas of Price Waterhouse and KPMG. Jim also was the CEO of the London Teaching Hospitals' Council for over 3 years having created the clinical service planning and shared support service organization on behalf of the University of Western Ontario, the London Health Sciences Centre, and St. Joseph's Health Centre.
Prior to joining the Firm, Jim operated his own health care consulting business featuring a diverse array of clients: Aetna Health; the Health Services Restructuring Commission; Grande Cuisine Systems, Inc.; Bayer Inc.; Johnson & Johnson Medical Products Ltd.; Sun Life Canada; Brookfield LePage Johnson Controls Healthcare Facility Management; HealthCare Purchasing Partners International LLC (Dallas, Texas); The Workplace Safety & Insurance Board of Ontario; General WellBeing, and others.
While at Odgers Berndtson, Jim has conducted over 200 searches for hospital senior administrative personnel, clinical department and program leadership, health regulatory and professional associations, and biotechnology and medical device companies.
Jim holds a Masters in Health Administration from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto ('83) and has earned a Certificate in Financial Management from Harvard Business School ('95) and a Certificate in Advanced Management Studies from Yale University ('87).
