
Canada Lands Company CLC Limited (CLC) is a federal Crown corporation that was created to optimize the financial and community value obtained from surplus properties no longer required by the Government of Canada. The Company is self-financing and implements innovative property solutions to create strong and competitive communities where it operates. Since its inception, the Company has distributed hundreds of millions of dollars to the Government of Canada. CLC currently employs more than 500 employees at its head office, the CN Tower and its offices located across Canada.
Canada Lands is seeking two newly created positions to be based in Ottawa and who will report to the General Manager, Real Estate, Ontario: a Director, Real Estate, Rockcliffe Lands and a Director, Real Estate, Ontario & Atlantic. With a focus on urban design featuring smart growth and sustainable redevelopment principles, the Directors serve as ambassadors for CLC by working with stakeholders and partners to achieve project objectives and generate optimum value from their respective portfolios.
Rockcliffe Lands
The 310 acres of the former Canadian Forces Base Rockcliffe present a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to develop an exemplary and diverse contemporary neighbourhood in the heart of the Nation’s Capital. The Director, Real Estate, Rockcliffe Lands leads all aspects pertaining to the successful redevelopment of the Rockcliffe Lands including all consultations, planning, approvals, land servicing and marketing and sales strategies associated with the project.
Ontario and Atlantic Portfolio
A position created as the result of a recent organizational review, the Director, Real Estate, Ontario & Atlantic is responsible for the management of a number of small-to-mid size concurrent development projects within the Ontario and Atlantic regions. The Director generates optimum value from these real estate holdings and acquisitions and is responsible for all consultations, planning, approvals, land servicing and marketing and sales strategies.
The Ideal Candidates
As an ideal candidate, you possess a university degree and/or a combination of certification and experience in residential land development, urban planning, municipal law, market analysis or financial management. You bring a minimum of 10 years of experience and a demonstrated track record of successful project management of mid-to-large size projects.
Your extensive knowledge in all aspects of residential and/or commercial land development, environmental issues and government approval processes is complimented by an ability to think creatively, make sound decisions and work in a dynamic, fast moving and highly public environment. A superior communicator, negotiator and relationship builder, you are an inspirational and collaborative leader who can create a team of diverse professionals to bring projects to a successful and timely conclusion. Proficiency in both official languages is preferred.
